Single wheel trailer update

We've had a lot of interest in the single wheel motorcycle trailer since we posted news and photos of the prototype "Mono Coot" from Bandicoot Trailers. It seems a lot of people are keen on the idea of a small, light, trailer that tracks with your bike.

Initial prototype trials have gone well, and we've used the opportunity to make a few design tweaks and improvements. The changes include:

• simpler hitch mechanism with improved usability and safety
• more streamlined body shape
• improved spring-based suspension
• 10 inch wheel with radial tyre

We're currently finalising the engineering drawings so the Mark II Mono Coot can be made.

Because safety is our prime concern, we don't want to rush the trailer into full production until we've tested the second prototype. This process from design through to production and testing will take a little time, so please be patient. We'll publish more info when the Mono Coot is ready for production.

Update 20 Feb 2010: The development of the mono wheel trailer is currently ON HOLD until we can clarify the different Australian state transport department design rules relating to this type of trailer.
