'Mono' single wheel prototype trailer

Bandicoot Trailers have designed and built a prototype single wheel trailer for towing behind a motorcycle or scooter.
Adventurously named the “Bandicoot Mono”, the trailer is made of lightweight aluminium.
The great thing about a single wheel trailer of course is that it tracks and leans into (and around) bends with the bike and is slim enough to sneak through those narrow gaps.
Carrying capacity is around 150 litres, which is roomy enough for a couple of sleeping bags, a tent and probably enough clothes to last a guy all week. Or several parcels for a bike courier. Of course, thought has gone into design of the lid opening to allow a slab to be loaded with ease!
The trailer is of monoque construction (no separate chassis), so the flexiride rubber torsion suspension unit and drawbar are mounted directly to the box. The trailer’s swivel hitch attaches to a standard bike tow bar with only a minor modification.
The prototype trailer is about to undergo road testing trials. We will confirm launch date and price when trials are complete. In the meantime, if you’d like to find out more about it, just drop us an email at info@bandicoots.com.au.
